For Milan and Rome audience, OSCAR LAWALATA CULTURE innovates the beautiful philosophy of BATIK to three-dimensional fashion through geometry. Presented in the RUNWAYS, the shapes gradually become monumental in scale- stimulate not only the mind but also prompts the eyes. I dropped by Oscar’s place to see his new collection that was freshly shown at Milan and Rome. I always love Oscar’s attention to details and edginess in all his creations. I met up with Oscar that afternoon and spent sometimes to talk about his most recent inspirations: the reinvented geometric motifs on BATIK, in MILAN and ROME, that won him a raving review and show demands. At the end I picked a greyish sea foam green silk batik kaftan: a genius cut…it is just actually one piece of batik cloth just sewn together in the middle. He actually thought of the pattern and batiked the pattern before constructing it into a kaftan, making it one of a kind and unique piece. He is simply a genius and just so talented.
What I wore here: Geometric lines silk batik Kaftan by Oscar Lawalata, Snake printed silver cuff by YSL, Diamond paved watch gifted by Teiwe (Actually an award I got from the TEIWE watch company, honouring chosen entrepreneurs), White Gold with stones and diamonds ring by Trinity Gems, Grey Python Nano Celine bag and black strappy sandals by Zara.
