Been wanting to share with everyone my experience at the best Spa that I have been to…which is ESPA at the Resort World Sentosa (Singapore). So I was invited by Resort World Sentosa (RWS) to stay at their newly built hotel, EQUARIUS Hotel. My room has views of the resort with its panoramic view of the mount Imbiah hills. I am an architect interior by study, so at the end of the day I will always comment on the interior of any space that I am in. The interiors of the room is inspired by neutral tones of nature in palletes of brown, aubergine and sand. Accentuated by the use of furniture in a contrast of dark and light colored pine wood. I thought the interior of my hotel room would be a great setting to take picture of my Blue Limaran Batik that I took along with me. This Batik is one of my most intricate Limaran batik that I own. Bought it in 2009 and it has super details “latar” or background. The welcome fruit basket and chocolates were gorgeous and delicious as well. The first night, Fabian Foo of RWS took us to dinner at the Forest Restaurant, it is RWS’s latest celebrity chef restaurant which is helmed by the award winning Chef Sam Leong. The food was wonderful, innovative contemporary Chinese cuisine with a strong Thai influence. The interior is quite interesting as well, it is designed as a relax and elegant ambience of a magnificent glass house.
Next day, I was invited to the Beach Villas. I just die for the view and its private pool. Check out my picture, just chilling by the pool and enjoying the dramatic and spectacular view of the waterfront. I can get use to this…a great way to just chill. I wore my EdBe batik jeans just with my GAP tshirt and my leather gladiator sandals, it was a pretty hot day. In the afternoon, I walked to the ESPA compound and got ready to have my hot stone massage. I needed it after a long week at work. ESPA at Resort World Sentosa is Singapore’s largest luxury spa and ESPA’s flagship in Asia. Spanning 10,000 sq meters of state of the art spa facility, it is just impressive, never been to a spa place this complete. I did a bit of a tour around the facilities before my session, it was just so serene and I fell in love with the manicured landscape gardens, pools and ponds. Even I enjoyed feeding the Koi fishes at the pond. Perfect place to unwind, relax and forget time. Though I was impressed with the beautiful Turkish Hammam onsen-style pools, I didn’t choose to do the Turkish Hammam massage instead I signed up for the Energy Balancing Body treatment: An indulgent body treatment to melt away tension and bring your body and mind back into harmonious balance. Sounds good…I am sold
My therapist that day was Phu, she is a professional Thai spa theraphist, and she is really good at what she is doing. The treatment began with body brushing and exfoliation to smooth and soften the skin; an indulgent massage follows, using nourishing essential oils and warmed volcanic stones to penetrate tired, aching muscles. Finally, a comforting head massage and gentle stretching allows you to relax and unwind. I felt refreshed and decided to have a serene time and a cup of hot tea at the sleep zone afterwards. ZZZZZZ….
For dinner, the RWS team invited me to have dinner together with the founder of ESPA, Susan Harmsworth. I think she is one remarkable woman and so admirable and down to earth. The minute I talked to her, I have a huge admiration for this lady. She told me that she had started out in fashion and beauty, writing for Vogue in London and New York – where she was also involved with Vidal Sassoon. Later she moved to Toronto, where she came into contact with the therapy traditions of the city’s Eastern European community. There she was introduced to a group of therapists who’d all studied medicine first. It was there that her vision – of combining health and beauty, the mind and body, the natural and the scientific – was born. Susan then created ESPA in 1993, which swifltly became world’s first total spa company, specialising in the innovative designs, development and management of 5 stars spas worldwide. ESPA is now in 55 countries and expanding. Susan is now 67 years old and she is beautiful, graceful and so humble. Her stories are so inspiring, I think meeting her was the best part of this trip. I want to be just like her when I am 67 years old
That night for dinner I decided to wear my Blue Limaran batik with a white t-shirt but spiced it up with MR. Dannijo’s colorful eyes necklace. The dinner concluded my short getaway, but in my mind I am already planning for my next schedule to ESPA. It is a perfect thing to do to have your ME time. LOVE!
