I think my black Balmain tuxedo blazer will be one of those fashion pieces that I will hold on forever. It is so chic and so timeless, I can almost wear it with anything and everything. With jeans, with pants, with skirt and even with batik wrap, it just looks sensational. So I went to my friend’s wedding last week (congratulation to Isfan and Felia, such a gorgeous wedding) at the Four Seasons and decided to wear my Black Balmain Tuxedo Jacket with my deep navy (almost black actually) Lenan silk batik cloth. I think this Batik is one of Lenan’s masterpiece. The preciseness, crispness and the details are just superb. I am in love with the two tone colors of this piece, just simply deep navy and magenta. It is so understated yet the combination of colours created a high end luxurious piece. I asked Simon Lenan the batik maker, what was his inspiration on this batik piece. He said when he visited Bukit Tinggi ( a city inWest Sumatera), at the Bung Hatta Palace (our country’s first vice president) where he saw Dahlia flowers that were growing on the backyard. That’s where the inspiration came from and translated it into the silk woven clothed and did an extra detailed pictures of the Dahlia flowers. I did some close up pics of the batik, you can see the tiny dots that were hand drawn to make up the flowers. So amazing. I always salute the patience, passion and remarkable skill that go into a piece of batik cloth.
What I wore: Balmain Tuxedo blazer, Smokey Chandelier earrings (can’t remember the brand), Chanel bag, Zara heels, Lenan Silk Batik and gifted Tewei diamond watch.
Balmain Tuxedo Blazer looks sharp with a two tone Lenan silk batik cloth. The long earrings gave a sense of glamour to the whole outfit.
Lovely interior was done in this wedding. Rich with textures and motives of Padang wedding from West Sumatra culture.
Met my dearest friend Wulan. She was my flat mate and close friend in college. Here she is also wearing a batik sarong.
The details of the batiked Dahlia flowers. So meticulously done. My dangling earrings with smokey stones complimented the whole outfit.
The details of the silk woven cloth, you can see the textures and the motives. In love with Indonesian woven cloths.
