Last May 10, I was invited by mba Petty S Fatimah of Femina to attend a summit hosted by McKinsey & Company together with Femina Group. The theme of the summit is ‘Unleashing Women’s Leadership in Indonesia’ and was opened by ibu Mari Elka Pangestu, our Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. The event was very interesting since it brought prominent women leaders on stage which included Joana Barsh, a Director in McKinsey & Company’s NY office and author of best selling book “How remarkable Women Lead”, my dear friend Svida Alisjahbana, CEO of Femina Group, Philla Wibowo, Partner in McKinsey & Company Indonesia, Melli Darsa, Managing Partner of Melli Darsa & Co, and Ms Roosniati Salihi, Deputy CEO of Panin Bank. It was a great event, since I was able to meet up with a lot of remarkable and smart women of Indonesia that afternoon. I was able to sit next to my dear friend Nia Dinata that I admire, the famous and prominent Indonesian movie producer who continuously produced films that captures the journey of women in Indonesia. That day she wore a cute batik kimono (made of vintage 3 negeri batik)….I love how she dressed up. She shows the effortlessness in being edgy, modern yet the Indonesian touch is still there. In my case, I wore my black woven jacket that was made of a balinese traditional woven fabric that was gifted by my lovely dear friend mbak Niniek Hanopo. The jacket itself then was designed and made by my dear friend mba Yani Soemali. She is just so talented Got tons of compliments on the jacket.
