A dream that I have, is that one day Indonesian Batik would be like the hippest thing to wear to the Oscar.  All those Hollywood stars would be racing to get their hands on the best Indonesian Batik they can get….Ok…I know, that is just me dreaming, nothing wrong with that, I dream all the time…It is healthy to dream, and in fact dreams do come true.  So why not    

Well, I was ecstatic to see this picture of Nicole Richie, daughter of famous singer and producer Lionel Richie and Hollywood fashionista. 

She is known as a scarf wearing person.  I know for sure that she loves her Alexander Mcqueen’s skull scarves.  She would wear them anywhere and everywhere.  Then, I was reading this magazine (well it was a gossip magazine- my secret guilty pleasure..hehehe), I saw her picture (she is 4 months pregnant) wearing white shirt with her denim, that was accessorizes with a beautiful green batik silk scarf with leaves design.  I swear what she is wearing is an Indonesian Batik silk slendang or scarf adorned with fringes. She was not at the Oscar, but definitely this is a wonderful start.  As you can see my dream is just a step closer now.  A Hollywood fashion icon is actually accessorizing with batik.  So who do you think is next??  Could it be Paris Hilton?
